Planned Parenthood performed 204,798 abortions in the U.S. in 1998, and referred 36,870 to other abortionists.



Statistics show that in 1999 of the 25,388 women who had an abortion 84% were single and 20% had two or more previous abortions.



2,609 abortions were reported in Kent County in 1999.

Expectant mothers who have had previous abortions have a 200% increased risk of miscarriage.



Complications in future pregnancies, such as excessive bleeding, premature delivery, cervical damage and sterility are risks of abortion.

Since 1973 more than 40 million children have died from abortion.
Abortion has also affected black women through its connection with breast cancer. A highly significant Howard University study showed that African-American women over age 50 were 4.7 times more likely to get breast cancer if they had any abortions to women who had not had any abortions.

In the United States, unintended pregnancy remains a problem; 49% of pregnancies are unintended and 54% of these end in abortion. These rates remain significantly higher than rates of many other industrialized countries.
