Katie DeVries won the Prolife Youth Award, and a $50 scholarship, based on an essay and her volunteer work with Grand Rapids Right to Life.
In the fall, Katie will attend Rochester College in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She will major in Music Education with a focus on vocal music.
“I have been blessed to be involved with the prolife movement,” said Katie. “I can not wait to continue fighting for life in college, and I hope to find a Students for Life group in the area, if not on my actual campus.”
Katie’s written essay and history of volunteer activities were submitted for the state Prolife Youth Award. Katie placed second in the statewide contest sponsored by Right to Life of Michigan.
