The 42nd annual Bike & Hike Festival for Life was a smashing success on Saturday, May 15.
Roughly 100 people were on-site for this family-friendly day. At registration, participants received a Choose Life pin and had an opportunity to purchase a vintage prolife T-shirt.
In addition to biking and walking the path through Johnson Park, participants enjoyed a free picnic lunch, live entertainment, face painting, sidewalk chalking, and a children’s play area.
Hosting this event was possible due to the volunteers who selflessly helped with set-up, food preparation, the flower sale, and children’s activities.
Although a fundraiser, education is always an important part of any Grand Rapids Right to Life event. Throughout the park, kid-friendly facts about fetal development and the dignity of human life were displayed on signs.
Many people shopped for baskets, bushes, trees, and flats in the Spring Plant Sale, which was made possible due to generous donations from area greenhouses.
This event was sponsored by John J. Oleck, Associate Broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Brown Law Firm, Catholic Central High School Students for Life, Micron Manufacturing, Seif Chiropractic, Serv-U-Success, Michael Tarach, and Van Manen Petroleum Group, and Weatherhead & Sons.
