Grand Rapids Right to Life sponsored a private screening of the new filmĀ Conceivable, written and directed by Beth Caulfield and starring Dean Cain, Jana Lee-Hamblin, and Eddie McClintock.
The dramatic film took the audience on a thoughtful journey through the issues surrounding the unplanned pregnancy of a married, successful, mom of two teenage children.
As the main character struggled with an unplanned pregnancy over the age of 40, she discovered the various beliefs about the dignity of human life held by her spouse, friends, children, and pastor. Not all in her social circle, including self-proclaimed Christians, had the reaction she expected.
Statistically, one third of pregnancies to women over the age of 40 are unplanned, and most choose to abort their child. Women over 40 have the second highest abortion rate. Their concerns are different from those of younger women, and few resources are tailored toward their specific needs.
More than 100 guests were in attendance at Celebration! Cinema North on Thursday, March 27.
Everyone was treated to a surprise when film writer and director, Rev. Caulfield, was present to introduce the film and then talk with attendees following the viewing.
