The sun broke through the clouds and shined brightly on the 46th annual Pedals & Petals event on Saturday, May 3. Generations of supporters filled Creekside Park with their conversation and laughter.
Roughly 100 people came to bike and walk the park path, with many journeying onto the Fred Meijer M-6 Trail.
This family-friendly event offered a delicious picnic lunch, which included pulled pork sandwiches and all-beef hot dogs.
Many people enjoyed shopping for spring flowers. In addition to purchasing beautiful baskets, bushes, flats, and bulbs on Saturday, some supporters shopped early at Porter Street Petals, a pre-sale held on Friday in the office parking lot.
Participants raised money through traditional methods as well as by utilizing the new online fundraising pages. All funds raised help Grand Rapids Right to Life with programs and projects that foster respect for all human life.
The day was possible due to the efforts of volunteers, who helped with set-up, food preparation, the flower sale, and children’s activities.
This event was sponsored by John Nowak, The Nowak Group; Van Dyken Mechanical; John J. Oleck, Realtor; Thomas Flickinger, Summit Law; Lenhart’s Lawn and Landscape; and Serv-U-Success.
