The 32nd annual Focus on Life Benefit Dinner will be the largest prolife banquet in Michigan, will incorporate 25 student volunteers, and will highlight prolife heroes from Michigan and South Carolina.

This gala event will feature John James as the emcee and former U.S. Representative Trey Gowdy as the keynote speaker.

Gowdy entered Congress with a resolute commitment to the conservative principles that have guided him throughout his years in public service. In congress, he served on the House Committees on Intelligence, Ethics, and Judiciary. Representative Gowdy fought to uphold the Constitution and to protect the dignity of human life.

As a federal prosecutor, Gowdy prosecuted crimes including narcotics trafficking rings, bank robberies, child pornography cases, and the murder of a federal witness. As 7th Circuit Solicitor, he started a Violence Against Women Task Force and implemented a Drug Mother Protocol designed to assist expectant mothers break the cycle of addiction.

James has lived his life placing service before self. After graduating from West Point in 2004, he became a Ranger-qualified aviation officer and served with distinction in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After eight years, James was honorably discharged and returned to Michigan to work in the family business.

Grand Rapids Right to Life president, Susan Misner Palazzolo, will give an update on the organization’s accomplishments in the past year.
