Becky McDonaldAs the daughter of a missionary doctor, Becky McDonald spent her childhood in the jungles of Bangladesh. At the age of 14, her Bengali playmate was found wounded, raped, and unable to speak due to the acid used to silence her cries.

This incident prompted McDonald to spend her life rescuing at-risk women and children and lifting them to lives of dignity and worth.

Women at Risk, the organization McDonald founded, is represented in all 50 states and in 51 countries addressing issues such as female circumcision, rape, honor killings, acid attacks, AIDS, and human trafficking.

Women at Risk has rescued children as young as two weeks old from the intended horror of human trafficking. They run the U.S. Training Center program to employ at risk and rescued women from West Michigan. The Tea Trade Café trains women in barista skills so that they can work with dignity and find healing from their past.

Human trafficking victims experience and report high rates of forced abortions. Overseas, women have experienced as many as nine abortions. They are made to pay for them personally by their “owners” or it is held against their “debt” with daily compounding interest. W.A.R. walks with women who have experienced forced abortions and were never given any “choice.” They also assist mothers who choose life and raise their children alone.
This private reception with Becky McDonald will include refreshments and an opportunity to shop the W.A.R. store.
Tickets are limited and it is recommended that they be pre-purchased by contacting Grand Rapids Right to Life.
Please Note:  Only 8 tickets left!
