More than 35 men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles teams participated in the first Benefit for Life Pickleball Tournament at Belknap Park on Friday and Saturday, August 9 and 10.
This sport is played on a badminton-sized court with tennis-like rules where players hit a wiffle-like ball with a ping-pong-like paddle.
Beginners and aficionados alike enjoyed the event that brought together people from Grand Rapids, Grand Haven, and Muskegon.
