Film Screened at Cornerstone University

"It's a Girl" Film LogoMore than 100 people attended a free screening of the documentary film It’s a Girl.  This event was co-sponsored by Grand Rapids Right to Life and the new organization Cornerstone Students for Life.

This award-winning film discusses the issue of gendercide.  In China and India, babies are killed, aborted, and abandoned simply because they are girls.  Girls who survive infancy are often subjected to neglect and many grow up to face extreme violence and even death at the hands of their own husbands or other family members.

Shot on location in China and India, It’s a Girl tells the stories of abandoned and trafficked girls, of women who suffer extreme dowry-related violence, of brave mothers fighting to save their daughters’ lives, and of other mothers who would kill for a son.
