Congratulations to Madeleine Jepsen and Colleen Lyons, who were awarded the DJ Zarnosky Life Leadership Award for 2014.

Both girls, seniors at Catholic Central High School, have been actively involved with Grand Rapids Students for Life and have demonstrated a passion for the prolife cause.

Lyons has volunteered at Bike & Hike Festival for Life, Family Fun Night, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and the Memorial for the Unborn.  After graduation she wants to study Communications at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.  She hopes to use her career path to help the prolife movement.

Jepsen has participated in Family Fun Night and was on the drama team.  After graduation she wants to study English and Biology at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. As an aspiring science journalist, she aims to comprehend scientific advances in the areas of human biology in order to share the truth about life issues.

The D.J. Zarnosky Life Leadership Award is named to honor the memory of Dennis Joseph Zarnosky, who died in a tragic car accident in 2000.  DJ was only 16 when he died; however, he was always a passionate supporter of life.
