Nearly 35 men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles teams participated in the 2nd Annual Benefit for Life Pickleball Tournament at Belknap Park on Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23. This popular and fun sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
It can be played both indoors and outdoors, and players use a paddle and a plastic whiffle-like ball on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net.
Participants came from all over West Michigan to play in this fun tournament. Those who registered received a T-shirt commemorating the event.
