A sold-out crowd of 2,100 people gathered on Monday, October 6, for the 27th annual Focus on Life Benefit Dinner held in the ballrooms at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
Dr. Ben Carson, neurosurgeon, author, and FOX News contributor, was the keynote speaker.
Carson spoke about the importance of family, the sanctity of all human life, and the need to get involved with the prolife movement in order to change the culture.
Patricia Korte, president of Grand Rapids Right to Life, gave a presentation on the work the organization has accomplished in the past year. She also honored Dr. Hank Milanowski for more than 40 years of service to the unborn.
Barbara Listing, president of Right to Life of Michigan, gave a brief update about legislative victories involving local businesses who have courageously fought against abortion coverage in health insurance.
The emcee for the evening was Paul Miller, executive director of Right to Life of Michigan.
This event of celebrating life motivated the crowd to work on behalf of the most vulnerable in society.
