Grand Rapids Right to Life hosted eight buses from Michigan to the March for Life in Washington, DC.
The March for Life in Washington, DC, began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew into the largest prolife event in the world.
On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court passed the Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton decisions that legalized abortion-on-demand in all fifty states. The peaceful demonstration on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time.
Before the march began, speakers addressed the group, including several members of Congress: Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Washington; Rep. Chris Smith, R-New Jersey; Rep. Daniel Lipinski, D-Illinois, and Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina.
Hundreds of thousands of people, mostly high school and college aged, carried prolife signs, prayed, chanted cheers, and made their presence and their prolife position known in the nation’s capital. Families marched together, even pushing children in strollers, on a day blessed with gorgeous weather, unlike the snow and rain in 2013 and the excessive cold in 2014.
Although marchers mourned 42 years of legalized abortion, and 56,000,000 children lost to this atrocity, many sounded a hopeful theme for a prolife future.
