Universities in the Grand Rapids area found themselves blanketed with prolife buttons as part of Celebrate Life Day.
On Thursday, April 16, Students for Life groups at Aquinas College, Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids Community College, and Grand Valley State University distributed free, colorful buttons that promoted the positive message: Celebrate Life.
Sponsored by Grand Rapids Students for Life, this outreach effort had two purposes.
“We wanted to give college students a fun way to show their convictions for life, but we also wanted to educate them about life issues,” said Erin Karlovich, student coordinator with Grand Rapids Right to Life.
Along with the buttons, students received a card that listed fetal development facts and offered a 24-hour toll free number that connects callers with agencies in Michigan that offer women and men facing a crisis pregnancy options that celebrate life.
“Our ‘celebrate life’ buttons had a simple, positive message that could be a conversation starter,” Karlovich explained, “and the cards that came with them offered facts and resources to anyone looking for more information.”
