More than 100 people attended the annual Focus on Life Kick-Off Breakfast at Aquinas College on Tuesday, May 12.
Guest speaker Dr. Monica Miller encouraged the audience not to be passive in their prolife beliefs.
Miller, a nationally known prolife leader, a pioneer of the prolife rescue movement, and a veteran sidewalk counselor, is the founder and director of Citizens for a Pro-life Society. She discovered bio-hazard waste, patient records, and the remains of aborted babies in Detroit-area abortion clinic trash containers. This discovery led to formal investigations and criminal charges being brought against the Woman Care abortion facilities.
“Every authentic prolifer carries a burden,” Miller stated. “You can’t live a normal life knowing that thousands of children are being killed every day.”
Dr. Miller also spoke frankly about a central, oft hidden, premise of the United States Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade; the ultimate power of women to separate and isolate themselves and their children from the human family relationship, under the guise of privacy.
“Abortion radically isolates a child from the human family,” Miller continued. “Aborted babies are completely severed from their relationships with other human beings.”
Those in attendance had an opportunity to reserve a table for the Focus on Life Benefit Dinner in the fall, which will feature keynote speaker Lila Rose, founder of Live Action.
