Twenty-four teenagers attended the first Leadership for Life day camp hosted by Erin, student coordinator for Grand Rapids Students for Life.
The event was held on Friday, August 14, at Life International in downtown Grand Rapids.
Leadership for Life was a day filled with a variety of activities, including dynamic speakers and prayer in front of West Michigan’s only free-standing abortion clinic
The purpose of the camp was to equip the teens with the education and confidence to create a culture of life. Participants learned the facts of abortion and fetal development, how to frame a discussion about the humanity of the unborn, and ways to get more involved.
The students left with the knowledge that even though they are young, they can be leaders in the prolife movement.
In the words of one participant, “I learned a lot about how I can help the pro-life cause. Before I knew I wanted to help, but I didn’t know how. This has shown me many ways I can make a difference.”
