More than 77,000 people gathered in front of 354 Planned Parenthood locations on Saturday, August 22, to protest the organization’s gruesome practice of selling aborted baby body parts.
More than 400 people gathered at Planned Parenthood in Grand Rapids and roughly 130 protesters were in front of the Wyoming location.
The illegal activity of selling aborted baby specimens was unveiled through undercover videotapes created and released by Center for Medical Progress .
“This really betrays me as a woman that Planned Parenthood, an organization that so many women have trusted, are now cutting up their babies and selling their baby parts for more money,” Mary Jo Thayer, a Grand Rapids Right to Life board member, told Fox 17. “So that’s why we’re here; to stand for women, to stand for life, and just expose Planned Parenthood for what it is.”
The focus of the protests was to defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, and to pressure congress to launch an investigation into the organization’s illegal practice of selling aborted baby body parts.
Grand Rapids Right to Life was a co-sponsor of the nationwide protests.
