A crowd of almost 1,100 people gathered on Monday, October 12, for the 28th annual Focus on Life Benefit Dinner held in the ballrooms at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.

Lila Rose, president of Live Action, was the keynote speaker.  Rose is known for her investigative journalism that has exposed threats against the vulnerable and defenseless in America’s most notorious abortion facilities.

Under Rose’s direction, Live Action has documented rampant sexual abuse cover-up, racism, medical misinformation, the willingness to assist sex traffickers, false statements made by Planned Parenthood executives, sex-selective abortion, and infanticide.  Live Action also focuses on educating the youth by spreading the truth about human dignity, equal protection for all people, and the evils of the abortion industry.

Susan Palazzolo, president of Grand Rapids Right to Life, gave a presentation on the work the organization has accomplished in the past year.

A highlight of the evening was Noelle-Ashley DeNooy’s state-winning oratory contest speech.  DeNooy won the local contest sponsored by Grand Rapids Right to Life.

The emcee for the evening was Lt. Gov. Brian Calley.

This event of celebrating life motivated the crowd to work on behalf of the most vulnerable in society.
