Snowmeggedon Hits March for Life

Despite storm warnings, prolife people from around the country, including six buses hosted by Grand Rapids Right to Life, descended on Washington, DC, for the annual March for Life.

Although smaller than usual, an impending snow storm could not quell the enthusiasm of 75,000 – 100,000 people happily marching for the unborn.

Before the walk down Constitution Avenue began, speakers addressed the group, including Carly Fiorina, candidate for president; Matt Birk, Super Bowl Champion with the Baltimore Ravens; United States Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA); and Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ).

The march started amid mild weather but by the end snow was falling, ice was building, and many peaceful protesters were heading for cover.

This year marked the 43rd anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decisions Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton that legalized abortion-on-demand in all fifty states.  The peaceful demonstration on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time.
