Over 950 teens and parents filled Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, March 11, to hear chastity speaker Jason Evert.
Evert and his wife, Crystalina, are the founders of Chastity Project, a ministry dedicated to sharing God’s plan for sex and marriage with teens and young adults.
In addition to speaking internationally, they have authored nearly a dozen books and have appeared on numerous radio and television programs.
The Grand Rapids event began with music from Holy Spirit Parish’s praise and worship band before launching into Evert’s presentation, Love or Lust. In this dynamic presentation, Evert expertly used humor and personal anecdotes to “reveal the compelling vision of God’s plan for human sexuality and present an uplifting case for practicing the virtue of chastity.”
Following the talk, the crowd spent 30 minutes in Eucharistic Adoration, led by surprise guest Fr. Mike Schmitz.
Afterwards, the teens had the opportunity to meet Evert and Fr. Mike, as well as to choose from dozens of books, CDs, and religious items provided for free by Chastity Project
Jason Evert GR was co-sponsored by Grand Rapids Students for Life and the Grand Rapids Deanery.
