The second annual Celebrate Life Day was a great success, with five local schools distributing almost 700 prolife buttons.
On Thursday, April 14, Students for Life groups at Aquinas College, Cornerstone University, Grace Bible College, Grand Valley State University, and West Catholic High School handed out buttons with the message “Peace Love Life.”
In addition to the buttons, students were given informational cards featuring resources for local women.
Sponsored by Grand Rapids Students for Life, this outreach effort had two purposes. Besides being a fun way for campus groups to interact with their peers, Celebrate Life Day was also designed to provide students with prolife information.
Along with the buttons, students received a card that listed fetal development facts and offered a 24-hour toll free number that connects callers with agencies in Michigan that offer women and men facing a crisis pregnancy options that celebrate life.
“The buttons were gone by dinner!” proclaimed Rebecca Cooper, the Students for Life president at Cornerstone University. She, and other students around the city, have been seen sporting the buttons on their bags and jackets.
All materials for this event were created and provided by Grand Rapids Right to Life.
