On April 23, 2016, #ProtestPP conducted a nationwide protest of Planned Parenthood. Over 10,000 prolife people came out to 228 protests and called for Planned Parenthood to be stripped of all government funding and demanded that all charges against undercover journalist David Daleiden be dropped.
Nearly 100 people peacefully gathered at Planned Parenthood in Grand Rapids.“There are other health organizations that offer free health services to women that don’t take their babies from them,” Mary Jo Thayer, a Grand Rapids Right to Life board member, told WZZM-13, “and don’t take hundreds of dollars to do it.”
Through public protest at Planned Parenthood facilities, the aim is to focus media attention on the baby parts scandal, educate local communities about Planned Parenthood’s harmful impact on society, and demand an end to funding of this controversial and corrupt organization in all state and federal programs.
Americans on both sides of the abortion debate have been deeply disturbed by what they’ve seen in the series of undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress. The primary sponsors of #ProtestPP are Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal, and the Pro-Life Action League.
Grand Rapids Right to Life was a co-sponsor of the nationwide protests.
