Lindgren Wins Prolife Youth Award

Clare Lindgren

The 2018 Grand Rapids Right to Life Prolife Youth Award winner was Clare Lindgren, a home educated senior. Lindgren won a $100 scholarship and has been nominated for Right to Life of Michigan’s $500 award.

Applicants for the award were required to write a short essay on what this generation can do to promote a positive prolife message and to list their prolife involvement during their high school career.

In her essay, Lindgren explained that society was losing the values that formed human civilization. To effect positive change, she suggested making people more aware of the prolife issue through honest conversations, social media, and personal example.

“Being living examples of respect and love for all human life will not only change minds, but change hearts,” Lindgren wrote. “It is our duty to show society that no one is unloved, unwanted, or unworthy.”

Lindgren has been active in prolife work throughout her high school career, including volunteering at the Focus on Life Benefit Dinner, the Memorial Service for the Unborn, Bike & Hike Festival for Life, and the Women’s Expo.

She hopes to attend the University of Dallas in the fall.
