Bike & Hike Families Enjoy a Fun Day

The weather was sunny and beautiful, the participants were happy and energetic, and all of the funds raised will support the prolife efforts of Grand Rapids Right to Life.

On Saturday, May 5, more than 30 families biked and walked, enjoyed a delicious lunch, had their faces painted, and played on the playground equipment as part of the 39th annual Bike & Hike Festival for Life at Johnson Park in Walker.

Participants were encouraged to wear a prolife T-shirt, so the park was filled with positive, life-affirming messages.

Many people stopped by to shop for hanging baskets, flats, and bushes at the Spring Plant Sale, which was made possible due to generous donations from area nurseries.

This family-friendly event was sponsored by John Oleck, associate broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Speed Merchants Bike Shop in Rockford, Micron Manufacturing, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Belmont, Rick Nugent, and Michael Tarach.
