Determined to gather in person and discuss the prolife movement, more than a dozen people gathered outdoors at Manhattan Park for the summer edition of Life in the 616.
Laura Alexandria, president of Grand Rapids Right to Life, spoke about how this organization is uniquely focused on ending abortion, through education, elections, and legislation.
Alexandria explained how Grand Rapids Right to Life hosts events to educate the local community, supports local pregnancy centers, and offers young people volunteer and scholarship opportunities. Working with Right to Life of Michigan, the local affiliate also works to elect prolife candidates to all levels of government, which is necessary to pass legislation to protect women and children.
Those in attendance brought a lawn chair, their own beverages, and participated in a lively discussion about how everyone can speak up for life.
This event, held on Thursday, August 6, allowed participants to ask questions, share stories, and encourage one another to get involved with Grand Rapids Right to Life.
