To honor and mourn the unborn children killed by abortion since 1973, Grand Rapids Right to Life sponsored the Memorial Procession for the Unborn on Sunday, January 24.
This car caravan traveled along 28th Street from Wyoming to Cascade with prolife messages painted or taped to vehicle windows.
Almost 70 vehicles participated in the memorial procession. Each car was given a gift bag filled with educational information, Kent County abortion statistics, a soft fetal model of a baby at 10 weeks, and other prolife items.
Student volunteers helped distribute signs with messages such as Stop Abortion, 60 Million Babies Killed Since 1973, Never Forget the Unborn, 60 Million Babies Killed By Abortion, and Remember the Unborn.
Four local pregnancy centers were on-hand to accept donations of diapers and wipes donated by generous participants.
Holy Family Radio aired prolife programming so that participants could listen to a message on the sanctity of human life from home or while in their car driving in the procession.
Josh Volk, board member of Grand Rapids Right to Life, gave an opening prayer before a hearse left the staging area and led the vehicles in the procession.
