Pedals & Petals, formerly Bike & Hike Festival for Life, was a day of fun and fundraising on Saturday, May 7.
Now in its 43rd year, roughly 75 people participated in this family-friendly event that included biking and walking the park path, a free picnic lunch, live music, face painting, sidewalk chalking, a coloring station, a play area, and shopping for spring flowers.
Those who registered received a small prolife gift.
Numerous volunteers happily helped with set-up, food preparation, the flower sale, and children’s activities.
Although a fundraiser, Grand Rapids Right to Life placed educational signs throughout the park that featured kid-friendly facts about fetal development and the dignity of human life.
Once again, the Spring Plant Sale was very popular with supporters. Many people attended to shop for baskets, bushes, flats, and perennials. These beautiful offerings were made possible due to generous donations from area greenhouses.
This event was sponsored by Brown Law Firm, John J. Oleck, Realtor, Serv-U-Success, Michael Tarach, and Van Manen Petroleum Group.
