Dennehy Amazes Guests

Spring into LifeA crowd of more than 200 people were entertained and inspired at the fourth annual Spring into Life event on Thursday, April 18.

Designed to grow the local prolife movement, this evening offered guests an enjoyable cocktail hour, dinner at the delicious Noto’s Old World Italian Restaurant, and an opportunity to hear George Dennehy, a man born without arms, perform and give a powerful testimony about the dignity and value of every human life.

Dennehy was abandoned in a Romanian orphanage and adopted by an American family. While struggling to overcome his physical impairment, he discovered a love for music and learned how to play the cello at the age of eight. In time he played with regional orchestras, created YouTube videos that garnered millions of views, and performed with the Goo Goo Dolls.

When sharing his story, he discussed his journey from anger to overwhelming joy with the beautiful life he was given.

Josh Volk, committee chairman and emcee, challenged the attendees to be involved this election season, as it would be critical to vote for prolife candidates. Gaining control of the Michigan House of Representatives would be the only way to curb Governor Whitmer’s legislative zeal for unlimited abortion.

Laura Alexandria, president, explained that a dire repercussion of the Reproductive Health Act was that Planned Parenthood was now able to perform surgical abortions at their facility in Grand Rapids. She also confirmed that the most popular method of abortion was now the abortion pill. Despite these grim circumstances, Alexandria suggested concrete ways that people could fight the culture of death in their families, churches, and communities.

Following the event, attendees had an opportunity to meet Dennehy, buy prolife items, and learn more about Grand Rapids Right to Life.
