More than 130 supporters attended the fifth annual Spring into Life event and heard the heavenly voice of rising country star Rachel Holt.
Spring into Life, a gathering designed to grow the local prolife movement, was held on Tuesday, April 24, at the elegant Noto’s Old World Italian Restaurant. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, dinner, and a concert by Rachel Holt, an artist from Nashville whose music reflects her solid American and Christian values.
Holt’s unassuming manner, youthful spirit, and sweet voice captured the audience’s heart as she happily sang original songs and country standards. She ended the evening with a performance of her song I Was Gonna Be, which skyrocketed up the country music charts in 2024. The song was written from the perspective of a baby who was aborted.
Rev. Peter Damian, pastor of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, opened the event with prayer and a reflection on the value of human life.
Aside from fundraisers and public events, Laura Alexandria, president, explained what Grand Rapids Right to Life accomplishes “behind the scenes” to create a culture of life in the community. With support from generous donors, the organization is able to fund scholarships for students, support pregnancy care centers, arrange networking luncheons for prolife agencies, remain a source of educational resources for churches, and place more than one million digital ads annually to help women facing an unplanned pregnancy make the hopeful, courageous choice for life.
Josh Volk, committee chairman and emcee, closed the event by illustrating the need to make Michigan a prolife state again.
Following the event, attendees had an opportunity to buy prolife items, learn more about Grand Rapids Right to Life, and purchase merchandise from Rachel Holt.
