Grand Rapids Right to Life hosted three buses filled with prolife supporters, who enthusiastically attended the second Michigan March for Life on Thursday, November 6, in Lansing. The event was held on the anniversary of the passage of Proposal 3, which enshrined the “right” to abortion in the Michigan Constitution.
This incredible event brought together thousands of advocates from across the state to rally in solidarity with women and the unborn.
The event included a rally in front of the State Capitol. Emcee and media personality, Chuck Gaidica, masterfully kept the event flowing.
Several individuals spoke powerfully in defense of life, including keynote speaker Maya Rodriguez, a former employee of Planned Parenthood, who shared the truth about her involvement with the abortion industry and redemption after leaving the organization after 17 years. She confirmed Planned Parenthood’s safety and health-related violations including incomplete abortions, falsification of patient records, illegal conduct, unreported statutory rape, severe injuries by abortion, and high complication rates with a specific abortionist.
Flanked by many bishops from the state, the event opened with a prayer by Bishop Earl Boyea of the Diocese of Lansing. Barry Borsenik, a member of the Knights of Columbus, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Colin Tobin gave a strong a capella performance of the national anthem. The rally concluded with a prayer by Pastor Donald T. Eason.
Additional speakers included Amber Roseboom, president of Right to Life of Michigan; Jennie Bradley Lichter, president of March for Life Education and Defense Fund; Angi Lok, a nurse at PRC Grand Rapids, and Emery Elenbaas, a young mother of six who was helped and supported by the pregnancy care center; State Representatives Ann Bollin and Jennifer Wortz; and State Senator John Damoose.
